Our team arrived early on Sunday morning to put the finishing touches on the Able booth in the Los Angeles convention center. We also made sure the “Service At Work” video ran flawlessly and our logo looked just right. We said hello to fellow vendors from the CRE industry and shared travel stories from our respective hometowns to LAX. At 2PM the convention center doors opened and our booth was mobbed by those seeking microfiber towels and asking questions like, “what has Able been up to for the past 89 years?”
After a couple quick hours on the floor Able Services made it over to the Grand Opening Celebration at Los Angeles Center Studio. We met clients from all over the United States and were accompanied by sweet jams from a legitimate cover band. It was really fun seeing the famous celebrity cars up close, especially Kitt, the black Pontiac from the TV show ‘Knight Rider.’ There was also a very theatrical ninja performance and a beautiful Los Angeles sunset to get everyone in the mood for #BOMA2015.

Our team took two shifts working the booth and meeting CRE pros from all over the world. Clients stopped by to say hello and grab some Able swag. Before closing up for the day Michelle Winters of Goby LLC did a demo of the super simple sustainability software called SeaSuite. As the clamors quieted down, word traveled that Able Services was having a party and everyone wanted the details.
Celebrating BOMA International and the opportunity to see our clients in a more relaxed environment is something we cherish. We brought in over 1,000 BOMA International attendees to the Conga Room at LA Live to enjoy the sights and sounds of our favorite cover band the Spazzmatics. Several attendees found themselves onstage and those that didn’t care for the music had a photo booth and vintage arcade games (Street Fighter, PacMan, etc) to keep them entertained.

Mostly everyone in the Able booth was saving energy for the TOBY Awards but did a good job greeting clients and explaining the benefits of working with America’s largest family-owned operations and maintenance provider. With several clients nominated for the Academy Awards of Buildings (the TOBYs), our team was nervously awaiting the event. Only a few will be #TOBY winners, but all participants are winners. Every TOBY nominee that night had won in their respective regions and had worked hard to get to the international competition. Supporting our clients achieve their goals is what we do best.
In conclusion, the conference was a tremendous success for Able Services. We look forward to seeing our clients back in our local markets. If you are attending BOMA MOB in Orlando you will see us there and we definitely look forward to seeing everyone at #BOMA2016 in DC.
