Able’s Director of Sustainability Continues to Deliver the “GREEN”

We like to say that Able was Green before it became fashionable. The reality is that we were implementing Green methods before they were even considered Green. Our Team promoted new methods, wrote industry articles, and experimented with new best practices related to sustainability with existing clients well before the initiative had any momentum.

Today we’re innovating and giving back as part of our commitment to the Green Movement and all it encompasses. Recently, Mike McGee, LEED AP, taught an Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) class at a monthly gathering of the USGBC & IFMA East Bay Chapters. In attendance were facility professionals from Visa, East Bay Regional Park District, Cushman & Wakefield, CBRE, McGraw-Hill and Waxie Supply, among others.

Mike focused on LEED for Existing Buildings, Operations and Maintenance (LEED EBOM) and covered Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) prerequisite 3 along with IEQ credit points 3.1,3.2, 3.3, 3.4. The presentation lasted 90 minutes and was approved by the USGBC for 1.5 hours of continuing education credit. It was a great opportunity for Mike and Able to showcase green cleaning expertise as industry experts in sustainability and to interact with customers and peers interested in learning about IEQ and gain CE hours in the process.
