Allen Metcalfe Joins Able’s Facilities Team

Able Services welcomes a new member to our facilities team, Allen Metcalfe. Allen received his education from Massachusetts Maritime Academy, served our country in the Navy, filled the role of Director of Engineering for Equity Office Properties and was most recently President of FE Moran Fire Protection. We sat down with Allen to learn why joined Able Services as our newest member of the Facilities Team as the Strategic Operations Manager.

What is your new role and what are your responsibilities?  My title is Strategic Operations Manager and my responsibilities are to develop and support Able’s FM Services and assist the operating units in project implementation.

What are your qualifications and past experiences? Degreed engineer, certifications in plant engineering and energy management, executive leadership and overall profit & loss responsibility of a $35 million fire sprinkler company.  Past experiences range from naval officer with combat experience, to twelve years in a nation-wide facility management company, Director of Engineering for Equity Office to president of Chicago’s largest fire-protection company.

Why did you decide to work for Able Services?  Able was one of my customers for fire-protection.  I have come to know many of the personnel, and as diverse of a population as they are, they all shared the same customer-focused attitude, which I wanted to be part of.

What gets you up in the morning?  The chance to make a difference in someone’s life, the ability to ‘pay it forward’ to someone else for the opportunities that I have been blessed with.
