The first meeting of BOMA Philadelphia’s Engineering Committee

Rob Berger, Able Engineering Manager from our Philly office, worked alongside BOMA Philadelphia establishing a formal Engineering Committee.  The committee met officially for the first time on the morning of 8/15/18 tour the Chiller Plant at Commerce Square in Philadelphia, the meeting was titled ‘Coffee in a Chiller Plant.’  This Engineering Committee will be focused on engaging and providing the training/resources necessary for BOMA engineer members and BOMA member buildings.

“Our hope is to grow our Engineer membership and provide a forum where you can interact with the rest of the BOMA Community and have your voices heard. We will also be conducting training seminars and technical tours of various facilities in the area,” —Rob Berger, Able Services.

The BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association) Philadelphia chapter, is a nonprofit corporation that was organized in 1916 to create, maintain and develop cooperation among those employed within the real estate industry in the greater Philadelphia region. In September 1996, the BOMA Philadelphia Board of Directors approved the merger of Building Operators Labor Relations (BOLR) and the BOMA Philadelphia chapter with BOLR becoming a division of BOMA Philadelphia. BOLR is an organization of building owners and managers who directly or indirectly, through janitorial contractors, employ cleaners and maintenance personnel in Center City office buildings.
